This month's round-up
Government policy dominates the news this month, with the ongoing consultation on the Review of Public Administration finally drawing to a close on 30 September 2005. NICVA is asking members for their comments on its draft response before the final document is submitted.
NICVA is also leading the call of 'enough is enough' towards the government's half-baked 'Towards an anti-poverty strategy' consultation document. NICVA is asking the sector to back its plan to submit an open letter demanding a proper anti-poverty strategy to Jeff Rooker at a Stormont rally.
New research is published this month which shows that people in Northern Ireland frequently make donations to charity, although in general these tend to be quite small amounts, with older people in general being the most generous givers.
October celebrates business sponsorship of local charities with the gala night of NICVA's prestigious Link Awards. There are over 80 nominations this year so the competition is keener than ever.
