Cultural Diversity Arts Project

An exciting new project representing the diversity of culture in Portadown has been launched this week.

Culture 2007-2013 programme

Culture 2000 which has now closed. Culture 2007 will begin in 2007 and it is hoped that the first call for Culture 2007 will be launched in the Autumn of 2006 (though there is the possibility that it may be delayed until early in 2007).

Ulster-Scots Agency budget for 2006

The Ulster-Scots Agency's published its business plan earlier this year showing the breakdown of funding to programmes. The largest proportion of funding is on its own staff and running costs (34% or £717,000).

A Lotto support for individual artists

Arts Council reopens Support for Individual Artist Programmes and pays for General Arts Awards with National Lottery funds. (General Arts Awards were previously supported by exchequer funds).

Alternative to arts lottery funds

The Arts Council has opened a new scheme modelled on the Awards for All scheme but not funded by the National Lottery for Protestant communities. Place, Identity and Art is a £200,000 programme.

New trustee appointed to Heritage funds

Arts and Culture Minister Maria Eagle has welcomed the appointment by the Prime Minister of Ronald Spence CB as a Trustee of the National Heritage Memorial Fund.

Even More Awards for All

The Awards for All scheme from the National Lottery has increased its grants awards to enable groups to apply for grants from £500 to £10,000.

World War II commemoration funding

Projects that commemorate the victims of the Second World War who were deported to concentration camps can apply for funding from the European Commission.

ADAPT Incentive Grants

The deadline for applying to ADAPT is fast approaching. This is likely to be the last opportunity for arts organisation to secure an incentive grant for adaptations (with access guidance  & awareness training offered to staff & volunteer).

Belfast Culture and Arts Small Grants

This programme will be available on an ongoing basis and will provide small grants to support innovation in culture and arts. Grants will range from £250 to £3,000.

CYP Touring programme

The Creative Youth Partnership Touring Programme supports existing productions, workshops and exhibitions to reach wider audiences of children and young people. Applications are invited from professional arts companies and artists working together.

EU Funding Programmes Update 2007

A number of major EU funding programmes proposed to be extended and updated for the 2007 - 2013 period has been passed by the European Council of Ministers.
