The radically revamped and updated website of the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) launches on Monday 1 October has a host of new features that users will appreciate.
Following a very lively and informative session held in NICVA on 4 September you still have an opportunity to give us your perspective on skills needs and training development in the voluntary and community sector.
The WEA (Workers’ Educational Association) is winning the fight against gremlins through their Essential Skills courses. 1 in 4 adults in Northern Ireland have problems with reading, writing and maths. One learner who has overcome these problems with the WEA is Rab Robinson.
The Northern Ireland Centre for Trauma and Transformation [NICTT] in conjunction with the DHSSPSNI is offering the Accredited Certificate in Cognitive Therapy Methods (CCTM) to mental health and social care practitioners working in the Northern Ireland community and voluntary sectors.

Loughguile Millennium Centre provided the backdrop for Triangle Housing Association to present 16 staff with First Line Management Certificates. This management programme delivered by NICVA represents the organisation’s commitment to continuous professional development and ensuring delivery of high quality services.

Rural Community Network is running a workshop for groups throughout Northern Ireland on Wednesday 22 August to explain how the Assembly works. It will run from 10.00am to 1.00pm in the Community Relations Council offices, Linen Green, Dungannon.

Digital Unite is partnering with Ofcom to deliver the sixth annual Silver Surfers' Day, on Friday 25 May 2007. Devised in 2002 by DU, Silver Surfers' Day is the biggest annual media literacy campaign aimed at older people.
A draft code of governance was launched for consultation by the Developing Governance Group at a special seminar held in NICVA.
