The School for Social Entrepreneurs in Ireland (SSEI) is currently recruiting for three courses focused on management education, and training and development to the Social Economy sector. As the leading provider of support to social entrepreneurs and enterprises in their local settings we are delivering three innovative programmes in partnership with the Business Institute of University of Ulster.

Sixteen managers from the voluntary and community sector were the first in Northern Ireland to achieve the MSc Voluntary Sector Management in June 2006, with outstanding results.

North Belfast Partnership through the Urban II Community Initiative invites you to apply for bursary awards for the
BURA Northern Ireland Regeneration Training Programme.
Seven young people from east Belfast’s Dee Street Community Centre have been awarded for their participation in an IT education programme known as Digital Communities aimed at developing Information Communication and Technology (ICT) skills and fostering better community relations across Belfast.

The new rates for the National Mimumum Wage have been announced.

This is a multiannual Community programme to make digital content in Europe more accessible, usable and exploitable and facilitate the creation and diffusion of information, in areas of public interest at Community level.

Running from 1 May 2006 to 30 April 2007, the Programme has £1.2 million to give away and awards grants through two funds: the Consultancy and Training Fund and the Collaborative Fund.

Thanks to a massive campaign of letter writing and lobbying, the government has announced a U-turn on a DWP guideline which, on the face of it, would have prevented volunteers on means tested benefits from claiming lunch expenses from the organisation for which they volunteered.

NICVA has released its briefing paper on draft legislation for charities in Northern Ireland.

The NetWORKS Cross Border Community Enterprise Programme is an initiative of Ulster Community Investment Trust (UCIT) Ltd. in association with Ardee Community Development Company and Tuath (Donegal Community and Local Development Centre).

Community NI, Northern Ireland’s voluntary and community sector hub, has had a positive reception in Ballymena.

The Community Relations Council wishes to invite grant aid applications for research that is focused on promoting innovative peace-building practice and learning trans-nationally.
