Junior Minister Gerry Kelly MLA, joined representatives from across the potato supply chain today at a celebration of the United Nation's (UN) International Year of the Potato.

At the annual Community Transport Association Awards in Manchester, two local transport groups received awards and the Department for Regional Development won a top award as Best Local Authority/Passenger Transport Executive for their work in administering the Rural Transport Fund.

NICVA is working with the Big Lottery Fund on an exciting project to provide a development and support programme to Reaching Communities NI grant holders. At present NICVA is working with 31 groups providing one to one support and training programmes.

On Monday 6 October 2008, Conor Murphy, Minister of the Department for Regional Development (DRD), launched 30 new accessible minibuses for use by Rural Community Transport Partnerships supported by the Rural Transport Fund. This investment updates and increases the number of accessible community transport vehicles across rural Northern Ireland.
