Many families seeking childcare in Northern Ireland are finding the search difficult, according to a major new survey on childcare commissioned by NICMA - the Childminding Association.

Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy today marked Walk to School Week 2008 with the launch of a new schools initiative. Entitled ‘WOW!’ it stands for ‘Walk/Wheels Once a Week’. Over 45,000 primary and post primary school pupils here will be taking part in the Walk to School Week (19–23 May) enjoying the environmental, health, social and financial benefits of walking the journey to and from school.

For the tenth year in a row, the most dynamic and innovative social enterprises have been offered the chance to win over £10,000 by the Social Enterprise Coalition - at the launch of the 2008 Enterprising Solutions Awards.
