Monday 1 December marks the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day. Since 1988, the face and response to AIDS has greatly changed. While many of these changes are positive, this anniversary offers an opportunity to highlight how much more still needs to be done.

Annually on 3 December, this UN declared day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and seek support for the dignity, rights and well-being of people with disabilities.

International Volunteer Day is celebrated every year on 5 December. This year the Volunteer Development Agency will be celebrating the day by promoting a new resource called Volunteer - Play Your Part, which is now available in five languages.

The anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter on 24 October 1945 has been celebrated as United Nations Day since 1948.
