Voluntary and community organisations across Northern Ireland are being encouraged to check out the free Volunteers’ Week resources available from the Volunteer Development Agency, supported by Northern Bank and the Department for Social Development, to help get their celebrations off to a great start.
Volunteers' Week is about recognising and celebrating volunteers and publicly thanking them for their time and their commitment.
Wendy Osborne OBE Director, Volunteer Development Agency, said,
"It is important that all organisations, from grass roots to national charities, can take part in the only campaign which recognises the efforts of all volunteers involved in all kinds of activities.
The resources include a downloadable Volunteers’ Week information pack, badges and certificates of achievement which organisations can personalise for their volunteers."
Vanessa Postle, Community Affairs Advisor, Northern Bank said,
"We hope that all organisations will use the pack to recognise and thank their volunteers as part of Volunteers Week. We are keen to support events during this week as we realise the value of volunteers in local communities."
