The Charted Institute of Housing in Northern Ireland is hosting a half seminar event on ‘The Rural Planning Policy Review: Meeting the Needs of Future Generations’. The event will facilitate discussion to provide solutions to ensure sustainable development in the countryside whilst meeting the needs of rural dwellers for future generations.
The event will take place on Thursday 28 February 2008 in the Rural Community Network, Main Street, Cookstown.
Rural planning policy has been centre stage following the introduction of, and subsequent legal challenge to, PPS14. Since December, the Department of the Environment has had legal responsibility for rural planning policy. With a review of PPS14 in place, the time is right to debate sustainable rural planning policy; and ensure it delivers for all rural communities.
