Older People and the Bill of Rights

Age Concern Northern Ireland Small Logo

Age Concern and Help the Aged are working together to talk about what human rights mean and what should be included in a Bill of Rights for Northern Ireland.

There is currently a Bill of Rights Forum which is debating what should be included. A series of discussion events for older people are being held in February.

Why should you attend?

  • To ensure that the voice of older people – your voice - is specifically input to the Bill of Rights process.
  • To gain an introduction and recognition of basic human rights standards already in existence.

When are the sessions?

1) Omagh: 5 February 2008

Silverbirch Hotel

2) Ballymena: 6 February 2008

Tullyglass Hotel

3) Derry / Londonderry: Monday 11 February 2008

Alexander Room, City Hotel

4) Belfast:12 February 2008

Grosvenor House

The sessions will be held from 10.00 am – 3.00 pm. Lunch and travel expenses will be provided. We hope you will want to join in what is a very exciting opportunity for all of us in Northern Ireland.
