The Northern Ireland Events Company is managing a major new funding programme aimed at supporting community festivals. £450,000 is available through the Community Festivals Fund to support festivals throughout Northern Ireland.
Mervyn Elder, chairman of the Events Company said,
“This will complement our existing Major Events and Events Growth Funds and I would encourage anyone organising a festival to get in touch with us.”
The first tranche of funding will support festivals taking place between 1 April and 31 July 2006. The application deadline is 5.00pm on Wednesday 29 March. Information and application packs are available from the Northern Ireland Events Company
