The Chairman of the Alzheimer's society, Dr. Nicholas Carey (pictured) seeks a new trustee from Northern Ireland, and sends the following letter:
24 October 2006
Dear Alzheimer's Society member
Search for co-opted trustee from Northern Ireland
I am writing to ask for your help with a search for candidates for co-option to the Alzheimer's Society's board of trustees.
The board is seeking to co-opt a trustee from Northern Ireland to join the board until, in the first instance, the date of the next annual general meeting in September 2007.
Candidates must have an empathy with the Society's aims and objectives as well as being able to fulfil the requirements of the trustee role description and person specification. Preferably, we would like to co-opt someone with professional experience of IT project management or experience in the field of human resources, as these are areas of expertise that we do not currently have on the board. Experience or knowledge of health and social services in Northern Ireland would also be an advantage.
If you are interested in finding out more, or if you know someone who fulfils these criteria and might like to get involved, further details about the role and how to apply can be found on our website, www.alzheimers.org.uk/volunteers or by calling Caroline Graty on
020 7306 0812.
The closing date for expressions of interest is Friday 17 November, and I hope to meet with potential trustee candidates in Northern Ireland on 7 December.
Yours sincerely
NAD Carey
Chairman
