Odyssey Trust Company Limited - Appointment of up to Six Board Members
The Odyssey is the landmark Millennium Project for Northern Ireland and is owned and managed by the Odyssey Trust Company Limited (OTC), a company limited by guarantee, which is overseen by a Board. Board members play an important role in scrutinising performance against commercial and other targets, including service quality and value for money, and recommending methods to enhance performance and footfall. PricewaterhouseCoopers has been retained to assist in the appointment of up to six suitable individuals as Board Members of the OTC in 2006 and 2007.
The Odyssey complex is a multifunctional entertainment and educational venue sited at Queen’s Quay. The tenants of the OTC operate in the main areas of (a) the Arena, which seats 10,000 people; (b) the Pavilion, which comprises the 12 screen multiplex, ten pin bowling and a range of bars, leisure facilities and restaurants and an IMAX Cinema; and (c) W5, an interactive discovery and educational centre; and the Car Park. OTC owns and manages the car park facilities at the complex.
The Odyssey was funded by the Millennium Commission, the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, Laganside Development Corporation, the Sports Council for Northern Ireland and the Sheridan Group. The OTC oversees and manages the investment in the Odyssey and aims to ensure its ongoing viability. Consequently, the OTC Board assists with the formulation and implementation of corporate and operational strategies, represents the interests of the OTC and seeks to positively contribute to the continued development of the Odyssey complex for the benefit of the people of Northern Ireland.
In the interests of achieving a balance of expertise and skills on the Board, three specialist appointments will be made to the Board, to be drawn from the following areas:
• Property/estate management;
• Legal;
• Accountancy/financial planning/investment/banking;
• Science and education.
In order to seek to have a Board representative of the community of Northern Ireland, applications are particularly welcomed from females and from individuals from/working outside greater Belfast.
If you or someone you know is suitably experienced and interested please contact Jennifer Wilshin on 028 9041 5061 as soon as possible. You will then be sent an application form, further details on the selection process and how to apply.
The closing date for receipt of all applications is 5.00pm on 11 November 2005.
