A fundraisers toolbox - 29 June 2006 - Ramada Hotel, Belfast

A number of high profile speakers from across the UK will compliment local names in the latest annual convention programme developed by the Institute of Fundraising. This year the event will take place in the Ramada Hotel for the first time.

New Community Fundraising Theme

The introduction of a community section for the first time aims to encourage more workers in community organisations to attend the biggest networking event for fundraisers in Northern Ireland.

Many people in Northern Ireland have a substantial role in fundraising without necessarily having the job title 'fundraiser'. This convention welcomes anyone wishing to develop their skills in fundraising and will enable community workers to rub shoulders with and learn from professional fundraisers.

Over the years a growing number of new faces are attending the convention which has succeeded in attracting high profile speakers and a diverse programme of workshops, discussions and seminars.

Jill Houston We have moved location to the more accessible Ramada Hotel, we have retained and improved the bursary scheme, we have a dedicated section for increasing the number of community groups who attend and we have special fundraising awards for professionals and volunteers. Most importantly we have a wide range of speakers on many cutting edge fundraising topics. Jill Houston - Convention Chair

In the morning,

  • Innovative and Creative Thinking
  • Getting Going in Marketing
  • Raising Core Funds
  • Writing a Successful Grant Application

After morning tea and coffee the choice of sessions is from:

We send all our funding advice staff to the convention each year as it offers learning opportunities and networking contact simply not available elsewhere. I would recommend that all organisations with an interest in developing their fundraising capacity to attend. The conference represents an investment in staff and organisational development. Neil Irwin - NICVA Members Services
