Christmas dinner is the biggest meal of the year. But for thousands of families and individuals across Northern Ireland, Christmas is a sad and lonely time. Dale Farm, Northern Ireland’s leading dairy business, has entered into the true spirit of Christmas by giving thousands of products to three charities who will be providing over 1,000 Christmas dinners to the homeless, elderly and socially deprived throughout NI.

Dale Farm is supporting the East Belfast Mission, Salvation Army and the Simon Community, supplying thousands of pints of milk, yogurts, desserts and hundreds of blocks of butter, pots of cream, pounds of cheese and probiotic drinks to the charity’s various centres across NI.

Dale Farm’s Brian Beattie, the person behind this operation explains further,

"At Dale Farm, we feel we are part of the community and, as such, wanted to support our local charities at this busy time of year. At Christmas time, it’s easy to get caught up in the festivities, buying presents and meeting up with friends and families, but each of the three charities does amazing work, with many of their staff and volunteers giving up their own Christmas day to cook dinner and spend time with individuals and families. It’s a privilege for Dale Farm to play a role in this great show of Christmas spirit."

Speaking on behalf of the charities, Captain Neil McFerran, Chaplain of the Salvation Army’s Thorndale Family Centre said,

"On behalf of the three charities, I would like to extend a massive thanks to Dale Farm. We are truly very grateful for this act of kindness which has allowed us to redeploy funds raised during the year, towards additional support and services.

"Each year, I continue to be amazed by the continued generosity of the NI people and the businesses community."
