New Belfast's call for artists

New Belfast Community Arts Initiative Small Logo

New Belfast Community Arts Initiative is calling for artists from a variety of artistic backgrounds to facilitate our arts workshop programme which engages community groups across Belfast.

We are looking for creative, dynamic and innovative practitioners with an approachable attitude, a passion for community arts, and experience of working on arts projects in community settings.

In addition, artists with only a limited experience are invited to apply for the opportunity to gain a hands-on insight into community arts practice by shadowing our facilitators.

New Belfast is committed to support communities through the arts using different art forms, including film, photography, fashion, sculpture, textile art, poetry, creative writing, carnival arts, dance, drama, music, and mural making.

We provide innovative city-wide arts projects which bring together arts organisations, artists and individuals on projects which are responsive to communities’ needs and interests, provide a platform for dialogue, contribute to the social, economic and cultural regeneration of Belfast, and promote artists’ employment and professional development.

With over 2,500 participants taking part in arts projects every year, we work in communities throughout the city focusing on the most disadvantaged areas.

New Belfast is funded by Arts Council NI (principal funder) and Belfast City Council.

Artists interested in working as facilitators on our arts workshop programme, are invited to submit a CV which should include a short profile (100 words max), information about the artist’s expertise in particular art forms and mediums, and his/her experience of working in community arts.

CVs should be submitted via email to info@newbelfastarts.org or in the post to:
