Social Economy Enterprises (SEEs) come in many shapes and sizes and provide a wide range of products and services throughout Northern Ireland.
The Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment (DETI) is undertaking a major survey of Social Economy Enterprises in NI in September 2006 to start to collect baseline information on the size and scale of SEEs including how many employees they have, what their turnover is, products, social purpose and whom they help.
This first postal survey which will become a biennial exercise, is an important part of the Government's objective to increase awareness and understanding of Social Economy Enterprise activity in Northern Ireland and will be issued to 800 Enterprises.
The Survey has the full support of the Social Economy Network (SEN) and DETI would encourage everyone who receives a questionnaire to complete it. The results of the Survey will be published in February 2007.
