The Spirit of Enniskillen Trust (SOE) has launched its Citizenship for a Shared Future programme for 2006 and is seeking applications from young people of all backgrounds aged 16 - 19 years who live in Northern Ireland.
The SOE particularly wishes to attract those with the potential to pass on the learning gained from their participation on this leadership and diversity programme.
There are sixty places for applicants.
Overseas travel
A key element of the programme is an overseas trip in July 2006 to visit projects in the USA, Canada, Sweden and Cyprus which engage with young people from diverse backgrounds.
Successful applicants will be able to explore how these areas cope with conflict and will gain the skills and awareness to communicate across cultural boundaries.
Accreditation
Citizenship for a Shared Future is accredited to Open College Network NI level three.
On completion, participants are expected to promote a culture of dialogue, learning and good relations among their peer groups, the wider community, schools and youth organisations in Northern Ireland.
