There is everything that you could want to step back in time, from records to furniture, clothes and games as well as posters and toys.
Ian Day decided to open the shop for two specific reasons, he takes up the story:
I have always been interested in collecting vintage items and over the years have gathered up a tremendous amount of them. I decided it was time to display and sell them, so that other people could enjoy them as much as I had. It was also the opportunity to give something back to local disability charity The Cedar Foundation who have been so inspirational in the care of my wife Elaine.
"When my wife became disabled I did not know what to do, then I heard about Cedar. I truly do not know what I would have done without them, they literally saved my life. Cedar has provided my wife with a lovely state-of-the-art flat in Belfast where she can lead an independent life due to the technology installed in it. Doors and windows are remotely controlled, as are the curtains and temperature, it really is brilliant.
"I visit Elaine every day and spend most of the rest of my time in the shop. As a way of saying thank you to Cedar I am donating all money raised from a vintage golf arcade game in the shop to the charity, this is ongoing so please visit the shop, browse for a while and play the golf game – it’s for a really worthwhile cause”.
The Cedar Foundation works in partnership with disabled people across Northern Ireland providing quality support, care, accommodation and training services to enable disabled adults and children to participate in all aspects of community life.
