A call for participants to test broadband for the Socia.net project.

Socia.net is conducting a pilot study on the relevance of broadband to social economy organisations which operate on a cross-border basis.

The project has been awarded funding by INTERREG IIIA, the fund that aims to strengthen economic and social cohesion by promoting cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation.

The project is seeking 15 organisations who would be willing to have broadband installed and running for one year, paid by socio-net. Organisations will also be able to purchase discounted equipment that they may be need for the project such as a PC or server.

Interested organisations must meet the following criteria:

  • be a social economy / not-for-profit organisation
  • be in the North West
  • already use the internet - but not broadband
  • agree to provide feedback on use and impact
  • identify a cross-border 'match' partner in Donegal, or other INTERREG IIIA area, to join the study.
