Voluntary Sector Panel Mixed Response to Budget

Speaking after the voluntary sector panel convened by NICVA to comment on today's Budget, Seamus McAleavey, NICVA Director, said: " We welcome much in the Chancellor's Budget speech particularly his planned investment in the National Health Service and we agree that this should be paid for by direct taxation. In terms of taxation, we are happy to see that the Chancellor has chosen more equitable methods of raising money than the stealth taxes chosen by other Chancellors. This is fairer for people on low incomes.
