Quigley Award supports sustainability

Sir George Quigley Award to promote long term sustainability in the voluntary and commmunity sector.

Sir George Quigley (far right) with staff from Can Can, 2003 winners of the Award The Ulster Bank Sir George Quigley Award has begun its annual search for an organisation in the voluntary and community sector that has demonstrated sustainability through practical action.

An award of £2, 500 will be made to a single organisation to help them implement their plans for long term sustainability.

Last year the Award was won by Can Can, an innovative recycling project managed by adults with learning disabilities.

NICVA President

Sir George Quigley was honorary president of NICVA from 1994 - 1997, years that involved the growth and restructuring of the organisation and the first State of the Sector almanac.

Applications

Organisations applying for the Award can be active in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland or on a cross-border basis.

They must be able to demonstrate how the prize would enable them to implement a strategy for organisational sustainability, how they would learn from the experience and how this would be shared with others.
