Grab your chance to question the European Parliament candidates at a special voluntary and community sector question time.
With the retirement of John Hume and Ian Paisley, the European election on 10 June promises to be wide open and exciting. Are you burning to ask lots of questions and find out where the candidates stand? Then join the TV presenter Paul Clark, who will chair a European Question Time at NICVA on Thursday 27 May from 10.00am to 1.00pm.
Candidates Jim Allister, DUP; Bairbre de Brun, Sinn Fein; John Gilliland, Independent; Eamonn McCann, Socialist Environmental Alliance; Martin Morgan, SDLP; Jim Nicholson, UUP; and the Green Party’s John Barry will set out their election policies and answer questions as part of a panel.
Here in Northern Ireland around 70% of our legislation comes from the European Union. The legislation and policies debated and decided at EU level such as employment rights, consumer affairs, equality, human rights and environmental issues impact on all of us and the groups we represent. In short, Europe counts and so do the people we choose to represent us there.
Lunch will be available at 1.00pm
You need to book your place by Monday 24 May 2004. Please contact Margaret Thompson at
