PricewaterhouseCoopers asks the voluntary and community sector to complete a questionnaire as part of an evaluation of the Partners for Change strategy.

Partners for Change Questionnaire Do you see a role for voluntary and community organisations in working together with government to develop policy that will meet the needs of those in our community who are the most disadvantaged and socially excluded?

Would you like to comment on how effective Partners for Change Government’s Strategy for Support of the Voluntary and Community Sector has been in developing mechanisms to build the capacity and provide the resources necessary to enable the voluntary and community sector to work together with government to achieve their business objectives? Well now’s your chance!

Government recognises the substantial contribution that the voluntary and community sector makes to many aspects of life in Northern Ireland and values the sector as key partners in helping deliver government objectives.

Partners for Change is a supporting document to Building Real Partnership: Compact Between Government and the Voluntary and Community Sector in Northern Ireland (known as the Compact) into practice. The Compact was jointly developed by the voluntary and community sector and government and set out the values and principles which underpinned their relationship.

Partners for Change details the actions which government is taking to put the values and principles identified in to practice. It includes over 200 actions, together with a commitment to monitor, evaluate and report on progress.

We therefore want to hear your views on how effective Partners for Change has been in developing government’s relationship with voluntary and community organisations.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has been appointed to undertake the evaluation of the Strategy. The evaluation will be twofold - it will examine how effective the strategy has been over the past two-and-a-half years in developing the relationship between government and the sector, and will draw on findings and make recommendations on how best to shape future strategies to further develop the partnership. A wide range of stakeholders from the community and voluntary sector and statutory sector are involved in the evaluation to ensure they have the opportunity to contribute.

If you want to ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place to enable voluntary and community organisations to inform and shape future policy and strategic interventions, you should participate by completing the attached questionnaire.
