Multiple Sclerosis Society Hosts First Ever Training Day for Healthcare Professionals in NI

The MS Society, NI, is delighted that the first ever training day for healthcare professionals on Friday 30 September in the Resource Centre, 34 Annadale Avenue, Belfast is now fully subscribed.

“This meeting will provide a basic understanding of how multiple sclerosis affects individuals and an insight into the work of the MS Society, NI” states Robert McConnell, Community Support Officer.

“The Society hopes that following this day we will develop closer collaborations with social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, complementary therapists and other professionals who encounter MS on a regular basis”.

This training day is the first of four and part of the MS Society’s policy of reaching out. For those unable to attend on the 30 September the next training day will be in Omagh on 13 October and there will be two further events in the Northern and Southern Health Board areas in early 2006.

For further information on this and future events please contact Robert McConnell or Lesley Clews at the MS Society, NI Resource Centre, 34 Annadale Avenue, Belfast, BT7 3JJ or telephone 028-90-802802. E-mail: info@mssocietyni.co.uk
