In partnership with Down Lisburn Trust, Lisburn Volunteer Centre and Lisburn City Council, the scheme aims to recognise the dedication and hard work of volunteers within the Lisburn City Council area.
All nominations received under the scheme will be invited to attend a gala reception hosted by the Mayor at Lagan Valley Island, 19 April, when the winners will be announced and awards distributed.
The award aims to recognise volunteering under three categories:
The Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Trevor Lunn, is urging people to submit their last minute nominations: “The Mayor’s Award for Volunteering is an excellent platform for us all to recognise and encourage volunteering within the Lisburn City area. I would encourage anyone who knows of individuals or groups worthy of recognition under this award to submit a nomination form before the fast approaching deadline of Friday 23 February.”
Nominations for each of the award categories will be accepted from individuals and community/voluntary and Statutory representatives who know individuals or groups worthy of recognition.
