We need your vote to make it possible

Peoples Millions funding would allow Shopmobility Belfast to run project “Tyre Out!” The project is aimed at young people with physical disability in the 15- 35 age group – across NI.

The project would make available “cool” and modern mobility equipment to young people – the like of which has most likely not been seen in Northern Ireland before.

The Aims of 'Tyre Out' are

  • To let the young people with limited mobility to use ‘trendy’ looking mobility equipment out and about, allowing them to access the wide variety of terrain e.g. beach, gravel etc.,
  • To conduct a series of outdoor activities in the countryside across Northern Ireland
  • To educate managers at outdoor venues of the need for good access e.g. car parking, toilets, ramps and disability awareness training,
  • To promote a positive approach in relation to mobility problems,
  • To integrate young people with limited mobility into society more fully via education and improvements.

Director Ann Collins says:

"This equipment could change the lives of many young people across NI by allowing access to countryside and outdoor activities many others take for granted."
