New services are available to asssist community groups and non-profit organisations interested in installing renewable energy technologies.

Action Renewables is a joint initiative between the Dept of Enterprise, Trade & Investment and the Viridian Group. We aim to raise awareness of the issues associated with the use of fossil fuels, the threat of climate change, depletion of our resources and the security of our energy supply.

Action Renewables are now offering a free adivce service to help community groups and non-profit organisations to install renewable technology which includes the following:

Visits to the community group/project location and provision of advice regarding specific technologies

  • Assistance with seeking funding / grant support, including assistance with completion of grant applications
  • Provision of lists of installers and products accredited through the various grant programmes, and advice on selecting installers and products.
  • Presentations to interested groups.
  • Information on other issues such as grid connection, planning and building control
  • Advice on generating and trading electricity* Assistance with publicity for the installation(s)
