The search is on for the highest achievers in business performance from across Northern Ireland as the part of the EXCEL Management and Leadership Award 2006.
The ‘EXCEL Award’, which has been organised by the Management and Leadership Network (MLN) in association with the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce aims to recognise excellence in management and leadership across small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Northern Ireland.
The winners of the Excel Management and Leadership Award 2006 will be unveiled at a major event on the 28th February 2007 during the Management Month initiative which will focus on developing awareness for the need to invest in management and leadership capabilities across Northern Ireland.
The purpose of this award is to recognise the contribution of individuals or management teams to developing business performance over the last twelve months. The winners of this prestigious award embody the key attributes of exemplary management and leadership as a result of investing in and developing their own capabilities and applying these to improve the performance of their company.
In 2005, Bridget Duggan and Connor McGuckin from Connect Engineering in Derry received the Ben Wilson Trophy which included bursary funding for a Management and Leadership Programme.
Frank Hewitt, chief executive of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce said:
“The Chamber is delighted to be associated with an award which recognises the important contribution of managers and leaders from across Northern Ireland. An important aspect of this award is to highlight individuals or teams who have demonstrated best practice in leadership and management development and can therefore be used as role models for others. We will be encouraging our members to compete for this award”.
