Applications are being sought in the areas of childcare; domestic violence; elderly and community care; sexual health and wellbeing of young people and; sexual violence.

Applications for Project Funding 2007-2010: Funding will be available from 1 December 2007 to 31 March 2010.

Applications are being sought against the following Departmental Objectives:

Childcare

The provision of training, advocacy, counselling and support in respect of:

  • Child Protection - To protect children and vulnerable adults from all forms of abuse and harm.
  • Looked After Children-To provide a range of services to improve the life experiences of looked after children.
  • Leaving and After Care -To provide leaving and after care services to assist young care leavers to make the transition to independent living.
  • Adoption - To provide a range of services to raise public awareness of adoption and to support those affected by adoption.
  • Foster Care - To provide a range of services to raise public awareness of fostering and to support those affected by fostering.

Criteria in relation to childcare: We would also wish to ensure that any organisation in receipt of funding which deals directly with children or vulnerable adults has policies and procedures in place to safeguard the protection of those children and vulnerable adults with reference to suspected, alleged or confirmed instances of abuse.

Domestic Violence

  • Research projects aimed at providing research into the area of domestic violence against men in N.I and the services which are provided to those victims.

Elderly and Community Care

  • To improve information and awareness of support available to carers and families of older people in care.

Investing for Health

  • To improve the sexual health and wellbeing of young people.

Sexual Violence

  • To identify services across NI for victims (adults and children) of sexual violence and their families and produce a directory of services, in hard copy and electronic format, which provides information, contact details and pathway maps.
