The Deutsche Bank Spotlight Awards are running for the fifthyear. Created to recognise, encourage and reward young people who have spoken out and taken action to change, create or improve something in their school, club or community, more than 2,500 teenagers were involved last year alone. We are offering prizes that include £1000 to individuals or groups of young people between 11 - 18 years old based in the UK.
Exam grades have nothing to do with it and neither does the size of the activity - they are interested in celebrating the achievements of all young campaigners. The type of entries they receive is vast, last year's campaigns included a project to promote environmental awareness in young people, a homelessness scheme and a campaign for a skate park.
All the information about this year's Awards and how to apply are available online at www.commonpurpose.org.uk/spotlight or you can contact Joanne Galloway, Programme Manager for a nomination form.
The deadline is 2 February 2007.
