Youth Council funding consultation

The Youth Council has recently completed its draft funding policy "Young People Focused". The document is open for consultation until 8 January 2008.

During this period they wish to obtain as many views as possible especially from those who work in the youth service. They will also be inviting comments from other relevant stakeholders.

You are invited to respond to this consultation exercise in person and/or in writing. A copy of this document can be accessed at www.ycni.org or hardcopies can be obtained by phoning 028 9064 3882 or writing to The Grants Manager , YCNI , Forestview , Purdy’s Lane , Belfast BT8 7AR.

Williamson Consulting has been commissioned to carry out a consultation process and to facilitate 3 consultation sessions:

• Tuesday 6 November, 3 p.m., Gortalowry House, Cookstown
• Thursday 8 November, 7 p.m., NICVA, Duncairn Gardens, Belfast
• Wednesday 14 November, 3.30 p.m., NICVA, Duncairn Gardens, Belfast

YCNI ask that you email or telephone to register your attendance at these meetings.

A series of questions in relation to the new funding policy have been developed and can be downloaded. You may use these as guidance to help inform your responses. The consultants would also be happy to receive written comments on any issues relating to the policy which are thought to be relevant.

At the end of the consultation period all responses will be collated into a consultation report which will be used by the Youth Council to finalise the funding policy into its final form.

The deadline for responses is 8 January 2008. The Youth Council will then take around 15 working days to collate and consider responses before publishing the final funding policy. It is expected that the policy will be completed by 30 January 2008.
