We are inviting outline proposals from organisations that wish to pilot and develop original ways of inspiring enterprising attitudes and behaviours around risk with young people and the professionals that work with them

We have identified a number of competencies required for young people to develop their capacity to innovate, so they can excel in our rapidly changing world, develop creative solutions to problems, and seek out new opportunities. A crucial competency is being able to understand risk.

We are inviting outline proposals from organisations that wish to pilot and develop original ways of inspiring enterprising attitudes and behaviours around risk in:

  • young people;
  • the professionals that work with them;
  • the environments that support them; or
  • a combination of these.

We intend to support a small number of projects which together will:

  • explore different methods of embedding these necessary competencies; and
  • trial new ways of helping young people understand and acquire them;
  • operate inside and outside of formal education.

We intend to fund 2-3 pilot projects between £10,000 and £60,000.

Organisations that may wish to submit initial proposals could include, but should not be restricted to:

  • national and regional voluntary organisations;
  • groups delivering enterprise education activities;
  • youth agencies;
  • organisations involved in delivering innovative education programmes;
  • Business and Education Partnerships;
  • Creative Partnerships;
  • clusters of schools that wish to collaborate on a new project;
  • partnerships between schools or colleges, and business.
