UnLtd Level 2 Autumn competition opens

UnLtd - Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs Small Logo

UnLtd, the foundation for Social Entrepreneurs is seeking applications for their Level 2 competition.

Unltd are looking for people with vision and commitment who are changing society for the better. Level 2 awards are aimed at individuals who have normally been delivering their product or service for at least one year and can demonstrate both the business case and the social impact.

Individuals who have set up a project, social enterprise or charity can apply for up to £20,000 which can be used for living expenses so that they can devote more time to their project, scale it up or replicate it in some way.

Unltd will take a number of factors into account when assessing the suitability of applications. These include:

  • Evidence of social impact.
By this Unltd mean the relationship between your projects’ existing and future activities and the social issue(s) you are seeking to address. At Level 2 applicants need to demonstrate their understanding of this by providing evidence of monitoring and evaluation, and collecting feedback from beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
  • The strength of your business case.
At Level 2 Unltd are looking for social entrepreneurs who are delivering a clearly defined product or service, and who understand the market in which they are operating. This is demonstrated by showing a knowledge of similar initiatives, explaining how you will reach your customers, and a realistic, costed plan for your growth.
  • The income you have generated for your project.
This could be from trading activities, grants or other sources, and helps to demonstrate that your project has a strong case for sustainability after the UnLtd award has finished.
  • Your team and organisation.
Successful Level 2 applicants are likely to have adopted a legal structure, and to have recruited others to support them as colleagues, advisors or partners. This provides evidence that a project can benefit from a range of skills and expertise, and is moving from start-up to sustainability.

Applicants are asked to submit an expression of interest, which provides Unltd with information about you and your project. These are submitted using the form which can be accessed below.

The deadline for receipt of these forms is 7 September 2007 at noon.

You can do this by completing the following form at Level 2 Expression of Interest Form or by visiting the UnLtd website www.unltd.org.uk
