Free of charge electric scooters are available from Shopmobility stores in Belfast's shopping centres, opening them up during Christmas rush for everyone experiencing mobility difficulties.

Shopmobility Belfast is a scheme whereby people with limited mobility may loan, free of charge, electric wheelchairs and scooters, assisting them to shop and use the facilities of the city.

The vehicles are available from Shopmobility stores in the Castlecourt, Connswater, Forestside, Westwood and Park Shopping Centres. This enable the shopping centres to be opened up during the Christmas rush for everyone experiencing mobility difficulties- either through permanent or temporary disablement, illness, accident or age.

Shopmobility Belfast is now in its tenth year and is continuing to go from strength to strength. Because it is a free service with no membership fee, it is no surprise that Shopmobility Belfast has over 5,000 members. They are reported that by being able to access services and locations they have experienced new levels of independence and confidence.

Shopmobility Belfast gave me the opportunity to use city centre services, to shop and to meet friends independently.

You can also enjoy your Christmas shopping without worrying about carrying heavy bags! All you have to do is become a Member of Shopmobility Belfast. It is free and simple to do. Just bring identification into one of our branches and you will become a member of one of the fastest growing membership organisations in Belfast.
