Belfast City Council has created a small grants scheme for the organisation of events to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in 2008. This fund is intended to support voluntary and community groups who want to organise celebratory events in local areas throughout the city to mark St Patrick’s Day.
The funding is for small-scale community events or activities to celebrate St Patrick’s Day as part of the council’s aim to promote and support the cultural diversity of the city, and should be seen to be as an inclusive occasion, for all those who wish to celebrate.
Funding up to the value of £1,000 is available for events or activities organised and held prior to 31 March 2008.
The council, through its Good Relations Fund, has set aside £30,000 for a small grants scheme. Groups may apply for up to a maximum of £1,000 to organise an event in their local community. Please note that food and drink costs will be capped at 30% of the total award. The funding is for events or activities organised and held prior to 31 March 2008.
For further information please contact either Anne Deighan, David Robinson or Emily Brough. The funding programme is for groups within the Belfast City Council area only.
Completed applications must be returned not later than 12.00 noon on Friday, 26October 2007.
