POST TITLE: Support and Resettlement Officer (Supervisor Position)
SALARY: £22,104- £24,300
DEPARTMENT: Living Rivers Lighthouse Hostel 24-7
RESPONSIBLE TO: Project Manager

Basis of employment: 11 months probation contract initially leading to open contract subject to funding

Location: Lighthouse Hostel 24-7, 8 Linenhall Street, Ballymena

Normal working hours: Minimum 44 hours week. Plus shared emergency call out.

Job purpose: To assist in the coordination and implementation of an effective support system within an accommodation service to men who have difficulty in sustaining accommodation elsewhere.

Essential Criteria:

NVQ level III (or equivalent) in Care or Support Field with a minimum of two years experience in implementing support/care plans to clients with complex needs (e.g. mental health, dual diagnosis, addictions, challenging behaviour.
Or
Six years experience (within the last eight)
in implementing support/care plans to clients with complex needs (e.g. mental health, dual diagnosis, addictions, challenging behaviour.

Desirable criteria:

Diploma to HND level in Social Work/Psychiatric Nurse/ Drug and Alcohol/ Dual Diagnosis.

Two years experience in a staff supervisory position

Demonstrates:

  • An understanding of basic welfare rights.
  • An ability to present written and verbal information, clearly, accurately and to a standard appropriate for external presentation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including word, databases.
  • Ability to develop, implement and review support plans for individuals with complex needs.
  • Ability to set boundaries, to challenge appropriately and to manage conflict positively and constructively.
  • Ability to assess risk associated with job role.
  • Ability to recognise and cope with stress.
  • Knowledge of working with statutory, private and voluntary sectors.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office inc, Word, databases, spreadsheets and PowerPoint.
  • Training or presentation skills.
