Mother's Hope Crisis Centre is a registered charity. It supports people and families in crisis and it serves the communities of the lower Shankill, Woodvale and Crumlin Road areas reaching through North and West Belfast.

The centre is looking for an experienced Project Development Manager who has a proven track record of fundraising, budgets, achieving targets and raising the profile of the organisation.

The salary is £17,409 pa with a fixed term to June 2007. (Although we are hoping to secure further funding for this position to continue after June 2007).

Job share will be considered for suitable candidates.

Job Specification

  1. Secure funding to develop sustainability.
  2. Responsible for maintaining and updating health and safety polices of the organisation and ensuring that orientation is carried out with all new member of staff and volunteers.
  3. Responsible for meeting targets and budgets.
  4. Raising the profile of the organisation and networking with other community groups.
  5. Organisation of events.

Essential Criteria

  1. Third level qualification or a minimum of two years experience of project development and development in the community sector.
  2. Line management experience in staffing matters, ensuring equitable sharing of workloads, staff support and development.
  3. Experience and understanding of budgets and financial controls.
  4. Proven experience and knowledge of funding agencies and securing grant aid and fundraising.
  5. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  6. IT skills, including Microsoft Office package and Powerpoint.
  7. Excellent organisational skills.
  8. Proven experience in raising the profile of an organisation.

Desirable

  1. Good people skills with strong inter-personal and communication.
  2. A record of Integrity.
  3. Experience of ensuring a high quality output to service users.
  4. Demonstrate a good knowledge of community relations or a clear commitment to acquire this knowledge.
  5. Ability to build and maintain relationships with other service providers.
  6. Experience in using Microsoft Publisher or similar programme.
