Who is Involved?
Getting Started is funded through the European Social Fund and Department for Employment and Learning and in partnership with:
Getting Started is a 10-day pre-recruitment programme. Taking part will provide opportunities to develop skills, which will help individuals to secure employment within the social care sector.Getting Started will support unemployed people to address barriers to becoming involved in paid employment. Full participation of the programme will guarantee you an interview for a direct care role.The programme will consist of awareness raising about working with people with learning disabilities, site visits, assistance with job applications and training in interview skills.Participants will undertake the European Care Certificate (ECC), which is recognised as meeting induction standards as specified by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC). In addition, there will be provision for participants with literacy and numeracy support needs.
Topics covered in programme include:
All lunches and travelling expenses (public transport rate) will be provided to participants.
