NIAMH is a registered charity concerned with the promotion of mental health and the provision of mental health services throughout Northern Ireland.

We are currently seeking to recruit Project Workers in south and east Belfast.

Applications are invited for the following post:

1. Project Worker Ref: AMH/PW/06/03

Full Time (37 hours per week)
Salary scale: £13,500 - £17,714
Based in Supported Housing

Project Workers will have excellent communication skills, be flexible, enthusiastic and have the ability to motivate and support service users. Preference will be given to candidates with mental health experience.

Essential criteria will include

1. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
2. A minimum of one year’s experience in a caring capacity, for example paid work, voluntary work, or as a carer.
3. A full current driving licence and access to a car is essential. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.

Applicants will be expected to work flexibly on a shift basis, which will include evening, weekend and night cover.

Applicants who can demonstrate one year or more mental health experience will start on the second point of the scale ie £14,041.

A waiting list will be created to fill similar permanent, temporary, full and part time vacancies, which may arise within six months of the interview date.
