Mediation Northern Ireland is a social enterprise which serves the development of mediation and associated disciplines by maintaining in Northern Ireland a centre of excellence in:

  • The development of mediative practices, including support for Good Relations.
  • The provision of training in mediation.
  • The facilitation of learning about conflict, division and the promotion of peace.

Based in Belfast, the agency operates across Ireland, Great Britain and increasingly at an
international level.
As it moves forward into a new period of growth and opportunity, Mediation Northern Ireland is recruiting a Director to lead the organisation.

The main areas of work will be:

  • Visioning & strategic planning.
  • Executive leadership and management.
  • Corporate leadership.
  • Strategic mediation interventions

The candidate will need to demonstrate from personal experience that s/he meets criteria which include:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline or 5 years relevant mediation practice.
  • Relevant training in mediation skills and practice.
  • 3 years experience as a senior manager of a comparable sized organisation.
  • Experience of managing a budget in excess of £250k.
  • Experience of managing significant change in an organisational context.
  • 5 years relevant experience in the field of community relations, mediation, peace-building and strategic development.
  • Experience of developing strategic, collaborative partnerships and maintaining networks.

Salary: NJC Scale PO10 (currently £47,257 - £50,012) plus a 6% pension contribution.
