Duties:

  1. To facilitate inter-sectoral partnership working, promoting the concept of the Partnership among all sectors through e.g. one-to-one meetings, focus groups, workshops and seminars.
  2. To identify, lobby and enlist the support of key influencers and agencies that will contribute to the work of the Partnership.
  3. To provide clear leadership to the development and implementation of the agreed Greater Shankill Action Plan and the development of provision for all residents in this area.
  4. To liaise with, and facilitate the effective participation of the local community and local community groups, statutory and local authority bodies, educational institutions, private sector interest and funding bodies with a remit for, or interest in, improving the area.
  5. To identify and report on best practice models of neighbourhood renewal which have impacted positively on communities in comparable areas.
  6. To animate and facilitate the implementation of the three year agreed Greater Shankill Action Plan.
  7. To assist in the production of local Action Plans and community based research that will engage local people in the shaping of the provision offered to them.
  8. To implement effective recording and monitoring procedures to inform the continuous review and development of the regeneration programme.
  9. To ensure best fit between the Greater Shankill Action Plan and DSD’s overarching Neighbourhood Renewal strategy for the City.
  10. To facilitate the sourcing of various forms of support, including financial and non-financial, required to address identified need.
  11. To assist with coordinating the delivery of activities by service providers on the ground.
  12. To project manage any additional funding which the GSNP secures to implement the Greater Shankill Action Plan.
  13. To deliver a Communications Strategy on behalf of the GSNP through seminars, workshops, news-sheets, bulletins etc.
  14. To manage and direct day operation of the Neighbourhood Renewal local office staff and general administration.
  15. To provide agencies and communities with a clearly identified contact point for neighbourhood renewal actions at a local level.
  16. To develop and enhance working relationships within the local area and between the area groups and the GSNP.
  17. To operate Health and Safety at Work procedures.

The post holder will be required to carry out any other duties up to and including the grade for the position offered as necessary to fulfil the purpose and function of the post.

Qualifications/Experience
Successful candidates should have:

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent and
  • 2 years relevant paid experience or
  • 5 years in the past 10 years, paid experience in community development/urban regeneration or related field.
