The role of the Early Years Coordinator will be to capacity build, promote and enhance early years’ practice and experiences for young children through their work with parents and early years’ settings and Sure Start staff practice. The Early Years Coordinator will be responsible for the supervision of all childcare staff working in the Sure Start project and will act as designated Child Protection Officer reporting directly to the Coordinator.

Essential Criteria:

  • BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with pre-school children in group based or advisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of child development
  • Knowledge of Birth to Three Matters
  • Knowledge of High/Scope
  • Ability to manage a team and to work on own initiative.
