S.T.E.P. is a rapidly growing community enterprise company. Our business is community development and rights based social inclusion serving a diverse community. We wish to employ a full-time assistant manager, responsible for effective delivery of current funded project activities.

Starting salary: NJC (2007/2008) PO 1 scale (point 33 or 34, depending on
candidate experience and qualification).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • supervisory management of existing project staff
  • management of existing project resources
  • financial and activity reporting to appropriate bodies on project progress
  • contribution to the overall management of the organisation.

The successful candidate:

  • will have a proven record of good management practice in all of the above, in either the voluntary, private or public sector
  • be a team motivator, subscribe to the STEP ethos (rights based, open, transparent, accountable, participatory and effective delivery)
  • be confident in decision-making and recognise the importance of organisational commitment
  • will most likely have a management related qualification, at or above NVQ 4.

Essential Criteria

  • The nature of the post requires clarity and fluency in spoken and written English, competency and confidence in integrating ICT at all levels of work, and a working
  • Management experience of full time staff equating to minimum 150-work hours per week, and of delivery of minimum 3 simultaneous projects of total monetary value of £150k minimum.

This full-time post is offered on a three year contract, annually reviewed based on performance. The post is based in our Dungannon Office, access to transport is desirable.
