Research into Support Services in Northern Ireland is being co-ordinated across government and the sector.
Support services for the voluntary and community sector are the focus of a number of past, current and future research projects designed to inform an overall strategy on benchmarks and performance standards for support organisations. A key topic informing the research is service provision.
There are two main streams for this research; research commissioned by the government, and research commissioned by the sector itself. Their work will be complementary, but should be some minor overlap between the projects.
This section of Community NI provides a platform through which the sector can be kept up to date on how each of the research projects are progressing.
Department for Social Development
Research to map the functions, client groups and relationships of existing support organisations in Northern Ireland. Deloitte have been commissioned to undertake this research on behalf of DSD.

Providing a response from the sector to the issue of how support services should provided under the proposed DSD strategy.

Will undertake a number of case studies designed to look at how voluntary and community organisations access support services and what factors determine which organisations they use for support and advice. More information to follow
