FAQs about the Policy Manifesto

Frequently asked questions about the Policy Manifesto coordinated by NICVA.

What is the manifesto for?

It is designed to provide an answer to the question 'what does the voluntary and community sector want?' and tries to bring together a diverse range of policy areas into one document.

There are 22 different sections ranging from arts through education and poverty to young people. In each section there is a clear list of priorities on which organisations in the voluntary and community sector want politicians and policy makers to take action.

It is hoped that this manifesto will give a steer to political parties on some of the key issues when they are drafting their own manifestos.

How can I get involved?

Any voluntary or community organisation can participate in the process of developing the policy manifesto.

When a new manifesto is being drafted organisations will be invited to participate in discussions of the different sections of the document which relate to their work.

Small drafting groups then produce the text and the final version is agreed with all those who have participated.
