Charity Choice have teamed up with Co-Operative Bank Plc to run the Online Donations Scheme. Charity Choice receives over 99,000 visitors to its website each month and is well known as “The Encyclopaedia of Charities”. Well respected for its ethical policies, The Co-Operative Bank Plc topped The Community Corporate Responsibility Index in 2006.

NICVA contacted Charity Choice to ask about future plans for the scheme which will be reviewed in January 2008. They explained that at the moment even the bank charges on the debit/credit cards are covered by the scheme. The hope is this will continue to be the case but if a charge has to be introduced it will be minimal and amount to only a few pence per transaction. They insist that if they have to introduce costs in the future these will in no way compare to the amount charged by other providers.
