Peace II extension funding: Measure 2.1.

The Community Relations Council (CRC) wishes to invite applications from organisations interested in developing and delivering peace-building and reconciliation projects across Northern Ireland.

Objectives of this Measure

  1. To provide opportunities for civil society to promote reconciliation and peace-building efforts.
  2. To encourage communities in areas which had previously experienced violence and polarisation to develop strategies and activities, which promote reconciliation as a means to sustaining peace.
  3. To contribute to making Northern Ireland and the Border Region a more outward and forward looking region by developing networks of co-operation on a cross-sectoral basis and encouraging a structured approach to participation in wider European and international networks.

This measure will be opened on a tranche basis over the next nine months for various elements of project activity.

CRC would particularly welcome applications from groups who have not previously applied, especially from those under-represented within the Peace II Programme. In this context we note that in some funding Measures there is an under-representation of applicants from Protestant working-class areas, isolated rural communities and ethnic minority groups. All applications will be assessed on merit against standard criteria.
