Belfast will be the host city in June when 2000 athletes will take part in the Special Olympics Ireland Games. Secretary of State, Peter Hain, and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dermot A'hern, announced the Games at the Belfast Waterfront Hall on 10 January 2006.

Fermanagh’s MLA’s all returned to Stormont for a special occasion to mark the Fermanagh Trust’s 10th anniversary, of supporting community and voluntary activity in County Fermanagh.
Limavady Community Forum was officially launched this December 2005 at the Gorteen House Hotel. Catherine Farrimond, Community Development & Funding Support Officer with Limavady Borough Council and Facilitator of the Forum said she was delighted with the excellent turn out for the event
S.T.E.P. (South Tyrone Empowerment Programme) wrote and designed the booklet which contains information about local services. The booklet was launched in recognition of UNESCO's International Mother Language Day (February 21st).
