Funding youth work within Reach

The foundation is inviting charities to apply for £5m funding across three years for work helping 16-25 year olds facing exclusion from society.

The Vodafone UK Foundation launches a call to action for charities to apply for Reach, its flagship funding programme.

To be eligible, charities must apply in collaboration – either in pairs or wider groups. It is hoped that through working in collaboration and establishing this approach at the outset, the Reach programme can drive a step change to service delivery for young people.

Reach is The Vodafone UK Foundation’s second flagship funding programme, with the first bringing together Shelter, Samaritans and Youthnet in programmes to support 16-25 year olds. It was during this programme that The Vodafone UK Foundation board saw the collaboration between organisations evolve over the three years and realised the value it could bring in providing more effective services for young people.

Sarah Shillito, Head of The Vodafone UK Foundation and Social Investment comments: “For the Reach programme, the vision of working together will be crucial to deciding the successful entrant and we hope that charities will be inspired by this opportunity. We too will be collaborating, working with the charities to help them shape what I hope to be a high impact programme making a difference to young people’s lives.”

Please fill it out and return to vodafoneukfoundation-reach@causeandeffect.co.uk by 5.00pm, Friday August 17 2007.
